I know I know, there have been many social networking sites that have tried to get the same attention as MySpace and Facebook, but none of them have really come close, well not from what i’ve seen till now. Meet Virb, the next greatest social site since MySpace :pSo, what is Virb all about? An extract from Virb’s “About Us” page states this:
Virb is a community website that combines social interaction with music and entertainment exploration. It’s a great way to keep in touch and meet people with similar interests. Use Virb to discover music, videos, cool companies and organizations… then share what you find with your friends.
So basicully, MySpace with a few extras, and the awsome power of the behind the scenes team that also created Purevolume.
Virb’s theme is a lot more appealing then MySpace’s and is what i can see, faster, not many ads, and really user friendly, not to mention:
- Flickr Feeds
- Custom Modules
- Hardly any ads (did I mention that before?)
As well as a few good features coming soon, including Blog imports (RSS feeds to your blog)
Well, as far as I can see, Virb has a pretty strong chance of giving old MySpace a run for its money
Well i’ve recently decided I will try and take designing another attempt, this go has proven to be more successful and I have redesigned my portfolio, which is now available at 41blends.com and have also designed my own blog theme.
xHTML Code
I have changed my mind on what its going to be for yet again. I have decided to turn it into a tutorial site for the tutorials I write, these will cover mainly xhtml and css, as well as wordpress coding a few other minors.
I have wipped up a design that I will use, something nice and simple, as viewable below:

Others
I have started work on two other sites, imageplatform and grabafeed, will add more info on them soon.
Yes, im still alive :)
Been busy with things in life and have been neglecting this blog and a few other things in the process. I few things are new.
Not going to set xhtmlcode.com as a resource site anymore, just going to install wordpress on it and write a few tutorials every now and then.
Been working on a site re-haul for my host.
Changed to Ubuntu 6.10(Edgy), awsome operating system, i love it.
And have a new blog theme, and have updated to wordpress2..
And thats about it for a bit till i finish sorting ubuntu out and finishing some work
Well, I went onto IRC today, only to find out that I have been tagged by Dread. For those that do not know this ridiculous time wasting known as “5 things you didn’t know about me” has been going around the blog community, you basically are “tagged” and then you say 5 things about yourself that others didn’t know, then you tag other people.
So, here I go:
The 5 things you didn’t know about me
- I live in a fairly big family of 8, my mother, father, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Yes, I am the eldest.
- I’m a fan of action films and series, i.e. 007 Series, Rush Hour, Stargate (yes I love the stuff), etc…
- I really enjoy music, I listen to it all the time, helps me concentrate, I find it hard working without background music.
- I have second degree burns on the back of one of my hands, I get asked by everyone that see it what happened. It happened when I was about 2 or 3 years old, I was in the back of dads ute(4 wheel drive). He was drying the back with an element heater that was sitting on the floor of the vehicle, it had turned off from the thermostat and the phone ran, so dad ran for it, somehow the element heater came back on, and I somehow ended hand first into it, enough for it to make the skin on the hand bubble. So, I got rushed to the hospital and the nurse told me to keep my hand straight, of course, being a little boy, I didn’t, and in doing so, I am able to move my hand like any normal person, because of the stretching of the skin. I have uploaded a picture, its pretty dodgy as its from my web cam.
- I have a girlfriend. Some of you know this, others don’t. She means a lot to me. We live a few hours away from each other, and my car isn’t that reliable so we usually rely on the phone and msn for communication.
So there we go, the list of 5 things you didn’t know about me. And I am tagging Mark Paton, and Roland De La Cruz Jr.
Updates
Just a quick update on xhtmlcode.com, the design for the main page is nearly coded, and I have decided not to preview the other pages till the site is near ready for release.
Also, selling a few domains on TalkFreelance, they can be seen here.
I’ve recently finished designing xhtmlcode’s main page, it can be seen here. I’ll add the subpages soon.
iDevcore is coded as well, only a few minor things need sorting out.
Here is a basic structure for the site:
XHTML Snippets:
- DOCTYPE’s
- Different basic layouts
- List of all Xhtml valid tags
- Examples of where certain tags should, and should not be used
- User snippet area. Users can add snippets and can be commented on.
System should be flexible to allow for multiple categories, a search engine allowing for tag search or phrase search.
User’s should be able to vote and rate techniques to allow for more compliant techniques to be rated higher.
XHTML Forum:
Using the Vanilla for its simplicity and ‘to the point’ discussion, will allow users to converge in discussion about XHTML coding techniques, as well as ask for support about making their sites work properly in all major browsers without requiring too many browser hacks.
Possible forum categories
Thats about it for now. Next design will be for turnkeyfind. Still writing the site structure for that
